Cruiser aground on Lough Derg

Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked by Valantia to launch rescue RIB and Mobile 1. to the scene of a 30 Ft Cruiser that ran aground at the Middle Ground on Lough Derg the vessel lost one drive and damaged its steering. Cruiser without power on Lough Derg

While Killaloe Coast Guard Unit were on Compliance Patrol they came across a stranded vessel in the approach to Scarriff Harbour. The 32ft Private Cruiser had lost Power, Killaloe Coast Guard Rescue Rib conducted a side by side tow  back to Scariff Harbour with its 5 passengers.

Swimmers in Danger on Lough Derg

The Officer in Charge Joe Doolan received a call from Valentia MRCC  (who had also requested Killaloe Gardai to respond) reporting that they had had a call from a Member of the the Public about unsocial and possible dangerous/distruptive water behaviour in the ‘Lough Derg’ Area. Boating Season open at Killaloe

Killaloe was tasked by Valentia Coast Guard Station to assist a 32′ hired cruiser that had gone aground on Lough Derg out side navigation channel. The Cruiser had 9 persons on board and was on its way from Killaloe to Garrykennedy. Killaloe Coast Guard checked the craft for any damage and then towed it to deeper water. Speed Boat re floated at Killaloe Marina

Killaloe Coast Guard Unit were tasked to an 18′ Speed Boat that was sinking at its mooring. Killaloe Coast Guard used one on its salvage pumps to re float the Boat.

Up turned Kayak Doonass Co Clare

Killaloe Cosat Guard Unit were called to a report of an upturned Kayak in very fast flowing water at Doonass Co Clare. On Scene were the Garda from Ardnacrusha and Limerick Marine Rescue. The Kayak was recovered and after inquiries it was found that the Kayake had been missing since the day before with no one in it. The search was stood down.

Major Search Doolin

Killaloe Coast Guard Unit was tasked to assist Doolin Coast Guard Unit and Rescue 115 Irish Coast Guard Helicopter in the search for a Female Adult missing since Friday last in an Area near the Cliffs of Moher.
