At 16:50 on Friday evening last Killaloe Coast Guard Unit was tasked to assist a 26' Timber Cabin Cruiser that had struck rock while onroute to Limerck in the Headrace between O'Briens Bridge and Clonlara. The vessel was taking on water and the Coast Guard quickly brought the Skipper and three children ashore to safety. After three and a half hours using salvage pumps efforts to refloat the boat failed.
