Yacht Adrift at Killaloe

Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked to a report of a Sailing Cruiser adrift south of Killaloe Bridge. Killaloe Coast Guard who was preparing for an overnight training exercise from Foynes to Ballybunnion launched immediately the vessel was recovered and tied up a Ballina Moorings with no one on board.

The Crew then proceeded to Foynes by Road launched at Foynes Yacht Club and carried out training

Cruiser Adrift on R. Shannon

Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked to investigate a report by a member of the public that a Cruser was drifting South of Killaloe Bridge and that they could not see if any one was on board. The Killaloe Gadai notified the local Coast Guard Unit who notified MRSC Valentia. While launching a call from the local Gardai stated that the Cruiser was now under its own power, the Killaloe Coast Guard Rescue

Search on the River Shannon.

Killaloe Coast Guard Unit was tasked by Valentia MRSC when a fisherman reported a fishing boat a drift whit no one on board on the lower lake below Killaloe. The fisherman had observed a person on the same boat 1.5hrs before and as the keys life jacket etc were still on board, a major search of the area was conducted by the Killaloe Coast Guard Rib “DALTON”, Rescue 115 the Irish Coast Guard

Report of Pollution at Coolebawn on Lough Derg

Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked by MRSC Valentia to a report of what appeared to be Pollution just off Coolebawn on Lough Derg. The Rescue Rib “Dalton was launched to the scene. After an extensive search of the area nothing was discovered.

Small Tender Craft Investigated at Killaloe

Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked to investigate a small craft that appeared to be stuck under Killaloe Bridge by Killaloe Gardai. Due to the darkness and the bad weather at the time it was unclear as to the nature of difficulty the craft was in or if any one was or had been on board. Missing Person Ballyvaughan Co Clare

Killaloe Coast Guard were tasked to assist Doolin Coast Guard, Gardai, Rescue Helicopter from Shannon and Locals in the search for a missing female from the Ballyvaughan Area who is missing since Saturday evening. The search is on going.

Engine Failure On Lough Derg

Killaloe Coast Guard Unit was tasked to a 24′ Sea Ray that had engine failure and were in danger of being washed ashore. The Rescue Helicopter which was on maneuvers in Killaloe for St Patrick’s Day responded along with Killaloe Coast Guard. Flare Sighted on Lough Derg

Killaloe Coast Guard Unit received a call from the local Gardai of a report of an Orange flare sighting on Lough Derg. Killaloe Coast Guard Tasked

Killaloe Coast were tasked to contain a small fuel spill from a 32′ Cruiser which sank at Kincora Harbour spilling Diesel and engine oil into the harbour. Booms were  placed at the mouth of the harbour to contain pollution. The Coast Guard at Killaloe would request all boat owners to check on their boats after the cold spell.

Search on Frozen Lake near O’Briens Bridge

Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked by MRSC Valentia to a report from Killaloe Garda that someone may have fallen through the Ice at a Lake situated at the junction of the R466 and R463 near O,Briens Bridge in Co Clare.
Local Garda, Crews from Killaloe and Rescue Coast Guard helicopter carried out an extensive search of the area a deceased animal was observed in the center of the frozen lake. All
