Thank you to all Boru friends for the support and welcome on arrival in Killaloe yesterday, it was just what was needed for the swimmers after such a long long challenge. A special thanks to Team Rosie boatside – to the big man Pat and the lovely Fionnuala for minding her all the way down, and a special thanks goes to Boru man Michael Kelly.
Having competed in the Lough Derg Sprint Triathlon and no doubt kicked its ass royally, Mike then got in his kayak and appeared over the horizon like a conquering warrior in Dromineer. He proceeded to escort and protect Rosie from boats and keep her going all the way to Killaloe. This helped Pat and Fionnuala to focus on food and support for Rosie. Fair play Mike – you have won the Awesome Award too.
Point to note – Rosie will be doing a wee 1500m swim in Kilkee in HOTW on Saturday – recovery swim!
