Long days of swimming from Athlone to Limerick and now out on their bikes next. Endurance challenge for sure.
Well done to James Colbert & Sean Buckely who completed their 120km Endurance Challenge 2068 swim leg in Limerick this evening. Some of the Limerick Masters open water crew along with some other hardy athletes from far and wide met the lads as they entered the city on a beautiful sunny evening. Best wishes for the rest of the Challenge.

Something very special happened on the River Shannon today

The last leg of a charity swim will finish in Limerick this Friday 8th August and they are looking for a few of our swimmers to swim along as support for the last 1600m-1800m .
The plan is to swim the Thomond Swim route to meet the 2 swimmers on their way into Limerick. They will have swam 10km/day each on their 120km route from Athlone to Limerick. After that they continue the remainder of the challenge by bike & run to complete the 2068km.
Plan is to swim from St. Michaels at 16:30. High tide is at 17:15 – if you are interested – shout out here! Its tomorrow!
(you don't have to have a SI licence… and wetsuits are ok)
More details on the charity can be found here at:

The Junior tri scene is really rockin, with the National Youth Championships in Loughrea last weekend and a great kids programme in Ennis at I-tri the weekend before.
200 children from aged 7 up put on stunning displays in Loughrea. For anyone who would like to get their little ones involved, the Aquathon series at ULAC Killaloe, starting tomorrow Wednesday 6th is a great taster.
Next generation of Tri-ers are forming before our eyes and leaving us for dead!

Boru Members!
1st 3 Wednesdays in August sees the return of the Aquathon training league to UL Activity centre.
Different distances and race formats each night, combining swim, run & transitions.
Great events for the kids too – be it the kids splash & dash in the safe shallow area inside the rocks, or for juniors that are competent at swimming there will be junior races. Within the three week programme there is an individual competition, a Club Competition and like last year, if we have 8 club entrants from Boru Tri Club, a BTC league. So, lets see a big Boru Tri Club turnout, get the kids involved and spread the word.

€10 per night, €20 for the series, Juniors €5 for series, splashers & dashers free!
