Coaching: How to best recover and why it’s so important for winter training
www.stickybottle.com
It doesn’t really matter if you are a professional cyclist or a charity challenge rider, the principles of training are the same. You may look vastly different decked out in your lycra, but believe it or not, your body and the pro’s are identical in their responses to training. Read more…

Back in the saddle again…6 braved the foggy patches this morning, change of route for safety but still got out and the coffee was mighty :D (look at these handsome devils – bockety wheel and busted spoke and still happy…)
Any cyclists interested in starting a Handy Spin Cycle group? Suggestion for this group to leave at 9.30 from Planet Tri and do a shorter, HANDIER spin, more suitable for someone maybe less experienced – starting out 20-23km/hr distance 20k-30k? Then to meet back at the Wooden spoon in time to meet up for coffee with the other group who would leave at 8.30am and do the longer faster Sunday Spin Cycle. The aim would be to build a base, get used to group cycling, and in time bring the groups together :) .

Please post below if this would interest you and we will see what we can do!

(non members can come and join us as guest cyclists for a few spins to see if you like it, but the good news is 2015 membership will be available soon, info will be posted here when its available)

Sunday Spins are officially back!
This weekend spin has something for everyone to get it all started. A few draggy hills, a few descents, and a nice bit of a burn on the N7 for the trip home.
Meet at 8.20, the group will leave Planet Tri at 8.30am Sharp.
Route is a 65k spin Bridgetown, Broadford, Blackwater OBBridge, Castleconnell, 4rds and home
http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/336462191
Or there is a shorter 50k option of straight back from Blackwater to Killaloe for those who want the short version. Recovery for the buns at the Wooden Spoon after :)
Please light up and be reflective as it may be a foggy in patches in the morning.

Don't forget Sunday week the 19th a good local event to support right on your door step. Lovely 8km loop of Killaloe in aid of Killaloe Girls School – any Boruvians out there looking for a training run that day? Do it in company for a good cause :D
