About the session:
In our busy lives we can feel that we spend a lot of our time going through the motions, constantly caught up in doing, achieving, striving and unable to savour the richness of life. We are often caught up in stories about our past or worrying about the future, and we can find it difficult to be here right now in this moment. The reality is that this moment is the only moment. Our lives are unfolding, here, right now. This is such good news; it offers the possibility of starting afresh in our lives; each moment a new beginning.

It is not always easy to stop and be with the present moment , often when we stop and become still we encounter a busy mind, endless streams of thought, an aching body, difficult emotions. Not surprisingly we want to distract ourselves immediately. Mindfulness practices can help us to be with what is unfolding moment to moment in a gentle and accepting way and to observe what happens. It increases our awareness and can help us to learn to live our life more fully, responding to situations with choice and creativity rather than reacting automatically.

Fundamentally mindfulness is a simple concept; its power lies in its practice and its application to our daily lives. It is a powerful way to get ourselves unstuck and back in touch with our own vitality, wisdom and creativity.

This morning session is an invitation to come along and experience simple mindfulness practices. It is open to all and is free of charge.
