Killaloe Tidy Towns are doing great work with the town and need your help with a new strategic improvement plan for the town – please see below. Clare Co. Council and Clare LDC recently appointed Galway Company Cunnane Stratton Reynolds (CSR), to implement their Strategic Improvements Plan in 9 Clare towns and villages. Killaloe Tidy Towns group applied to be included in this initiative and were successful. Keith Mitchell of CSR visited Killaloe last September and was shown around the town by members of the Tidy Town group, carried out some research and met with local interested people. We have attached a copy of the plan but you may not be able to view it as it is quite large. This plan is on display at Heaney’s window on the Green and it is the first draft of a Strategic Improvements Plan for Killaloe. You are invited to examine this plan, give your comments and add any suggestions you may have. Do not be constrained by financial considerations at this stage. Consider improvements you would like to see in your town in the short, medium or longer term. Look at streets, open spaces, green areas, public areas etc, consider pedestrians, drivers, pushchair and wheelchair users, think of all members of our community, young, old, infirm, families etc. Include your own ideas. Be creative! Any comments and suggestions received will be passed on to Keith Mitchell for consideration. He will update the plan and meet with interested local people at a public meeting in January '13. After this the final plan will be completed. The final plan can be used to leverage funds to implement the plan or elements of the plan. Pleases submit your ideas to killaloeplan@gmail.com or leave them in the suggestion box on Heaney's noticeboard. Everybody's ideas are welcome. Watch out in January for details of the next public meeting. The Ballina Killaloe Business Association believes this is a great initiative by the Killaloe Tidy Towns and urge you to provide feedback to killaloeplan@gmail.com
